A Waffle Iron that Makes Waffle Bowls
When trying to explain injection molding to a non-industrial-designer, I often use the example of a waffle iron. While the kitchen gadget doesn't have sprues, it's generally enough to get the idea across.
It also helps people understand parting lines and flashing. But the thing about a waffle iron is, you can't change the tooling.
You get just one shape of waffle. I never thought about that until I came across this Presto Belgian Waffle Bowl Maker , by American kitchen gadget brand National Presto Industries.
